This weekend at Stake Conference a member of our stake presidency said "There are too many of our young men high fiving themselves over Cs, while our women are beating themselves up over an A- while pursuing advanced degrees."

I then look down my row and note that all of us girls on my row are applying for advanced degrees. Are we pricing ourselves out of the market?

  1. I've wondered more than once if my masters degree scares the fellas.

I love my career. And I was just doing what the prophets and apostles told me to do. If the guys aren't applying themselves, I'd rather not go there. There are worse things than being happily single, right? And I'd rather push myself and please the Lord, than just stand around content in my mediocrity to maybe (or maybe not) find a husband who is also content in my mediocrity (and his own).
