Settle this for me

When you are sick do you call in or out?

By this I mean do you say, he called out sick or called in sick?

One camp says you call IN to say you are sick

The other camp believes you call to say you will be OUT sick.

    You call in to say you are out sick.

    If you are talking about the calling, you call in.

    If you are talking about the sickness, you are out sick.
